Ask one answerable question

Prepare a Supplier Inquiry That Can Be Compared Later

A useful reply begins with a useful question. Attach the request to one item and one order shape so the answer can be compared with another candidate.

Before writing, collect the product URL or code, variation, intended quantity, required measurements or evidence, packing question, and destination country or region.

Keep product price, evidence, production timing, packing, and shipping as separate questions. A chat reply is information from that supplier, not independent verification or transaction protection.

Collect the context before opening the chat

  • Exact album, catalog, or marketplace URL and visible product code
  • Requested color, size, material, model, or included set
  • Trial quantity and possible later quantity, kept separate
  • Category-specific evidence request
  • Packing requirement and destination country or region
  • The one decision the reply needs to support

Use five short blocks in the first inquiry

Product: paste one exact URL or code and name the variation.

Quantity: state the trial quantity and ask which MOQ applies to that design, color, and size mix.

Evidence: request the measurements, material detail, photos, specification, or packing information needed for the category.

Price basis: ask for currency, unit or pack basis, included charges, and validity date.

Destination context: provide country or region for an estimate, without sending a full personal address before it is needed.

Send enough context for an answer, but keep the first message short. A list of twenty unrelated questions usually produces a partial reply that cannot be attached to one item.

Tie the quoted amount to one variation and quantity

Ask whether the amount is per unit, sample, pack, carton, or tier. Name the exact quantity and variation. Ask which charges are included and whether packing changes the total. Record the quote date instead of presenting the amount as permanently current.

Request the evidence that matters for this product type

  • Clothing: product measurements, measurement method, material composition claim, and close-up photos.
  • Footwear: internal-length method, sole, heel, side profile, label area, and packed weight.
  • Bags: dimensions, interior, closure, strap, hardware, and packed shape.
  • Electronics: exact model, power input, ports, compatibility, included parts, and responsible warranty route.

The supplier's answer remains a claim until it can be checked against the item, sample, listing, or other relevant evidence.

Request logistics only after the packed order is defined

First establish the packed quantity, carton size, gross weight, destination, route basis, and included charges. Ask whether the number is an estimate or a bookable quote and when it needs to be refreshed. Do not combine a vague product amount and a vague shipping amount into a confident landed total.

Convert the reply into a comparison record

  1. Does the reply repeat the same item code and variation?
  2. Does the price use the requested quantity and currency?
  3. Are measurements tied to a diagram or method?
  4. Are packing and shipping inputs stated rather than assumed?
  5. Which questions were skipped or answered only with a promise?

Share only the details required to answer the question

Do not send account passwords, one-time codes, payment credentials, identity documents, or unnecessary personal details in an initial inquiry. Confirm who is responsible for the listing, payment, inspection, shipping, and dispute route before sharing information or proceeding.

Pause on pressure: urgency, unexplained payee changes, requests to leave the intended route, or promises of guaranteed quality and delivery require independent rechecking.
